WWTP – Wastewater Treatment Plant

Paying careful attention to the work done at the company and its impact on the environment, the Caramuru Group invested nearly R$7 million on the construction of modern waste water and sewage treatment plants, or WWTP (known in Brazil as a ETE). Thanks to this technology, water can now be re-used at the industrial complexes owned by the company in Itumbiara, São Simão, Apucarana and Ipameri, resulting in an economy of 150 thousand liters of water per hour.

The recycled water is channeled to plant cooling towers and is also used for washing floors, outside areas and caring for company landscapes. WWTPs also process sanitary sewage collected at the units avoiding the spillage of these wastes into the public water and sewage system.
